Hey gang, saw the opportunity to smash my left front tire through one of the lovely pot holes we have here in the north east and just couldn't resist. Anyways, A flat tire and an alignment later, I have nothing coming up on my trip meter and on start I noted that it says ERROR acrossed my odometer on start. Now, I just noticed this while I was dropping it off at the tire shop and after driving about a mile it was still happening. I didn't notice whether the odometer was registering new mileage, but I dont think it is. Any thoughts? I can probably bring it to a dealership tomorrow.
The U281 OBD2 CAN Auto Scanner for VW Audi and Skoda is simple, cheap, effective and easy to use. We tried this on our VW Jetta and it was able to diagnose a faulty camshaft sensor. Don’t let the price fool you. This is a budget alternative to otherwise costly OBDII scanners for VW. Service light reset procedures. To remove this, use the following procedure (this should work on any VW with a digital odometer): With the key out of the ignition find and press the odometer reset button (hold down) Turn the ignition on (warning lights come on) wait about 10-15 sec until most or the lights are off (still pressing odometer.
Should be covered under CPO warranty right? Especially if I leave our that I just went pot hole hunting this week. Hey this was really helpful. Glad you contributed.Not. I'm joking about wiper fluid. Do you really think I'm that up tight about this?
I'm asking for expert opinon or personal experience with a similar situation. If you don't have either then butt out. All they have to notice is that the odometer was repaired and I didn't mention it was off. That's enough to raise suspicion. If you were buying a used car and someone hadn't reported a broken odometer wouldn't that be a red flag to you? I look at all repair reports before I purchase a car.
I'm in the clear though, report just claims instrument cluster fail. Doesn't mention the odometer. Plus they refilled my wiper fluid. No, no ABS lights. The pothole is a coincidence most likely. This is a common failure among my model and year.
When I called the dealership they knew exactly what I was talking about when I said I had a problem with my instrument cluster. A known problem that VW was trying to correct with a software fix. Theirs no evidence that I hit a pothole. My alignment wasn't even knocked out and the tire is fixed. I have a light on the dashboard that indicates I'm almost out of wiper fluid. Think they'll cover that under warranty?.
